Ways to Make Business Communication in English More Effective and Easier

On April 2nd, 2020, AmCham Southwest, joined hands with G-MEO, successfully to hold the online training “Ways to Make Business Communication in English More Effective and Easier”. The event attracted company members and friends, including MetLife, Dell, Leman Chengdu, Chengdu Sailing Public Relations Company, CleNET Technologies, EOG Resources, TI, Unilever, Cummins, HKT, Heralex Communications Ltd., Gleneagles Hospital Chengdu, etc.

Doctor Andy, a professional negotiator who has years of work experience at the OECD, focused on the topic of 3 practical business communication skills to explain how to communicate effectively in English under business contexts. First, Doctor Andy analyzed organizational structure, management methods and team roles to emphasize the importance of these factors in successful business cooperation. Besides, Doctor Andy compared and contrasted two real sample letters to show 7 steps of effective writing. At last, Doctor Andy offered tips on delivering business presentation, such as keeping composure, staying confident and making eye contact with audiences.

Potential Risks & Requirements of Cyber Security in the Process of Business Transformation during the COVID-19 Outbreak

On April 10th, 2020, KPMG enterprise consulting guests invited by AmCham Southwest, Chongqing Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment and China-Britain Business Council successfully held the online training “Potential Risks & Requirements of Cyber Security in the Process of Business Transformation during the COVID-19 Outbreak”. The event attracted many company members and friends, including EOG Resources, Laowai Here, Meishan California Smart City, Hilton Chengdu, Changan Ford, Honeywell, etc.

This training covered two areas. First, Cyber Security Manager of KPMG China, Jonas Wang, discussed specific cyber-security protecting measures under the impact of COVID-19. At the beginning, Mr. Wang talked about new service models caused by COVID-19 and the corresponding cyber-security challenges, also proposing response to risks of telecommuting and remote cooperation. Mr. Wang then moved on to talk about how to protect core business and new security risks brought by non-contact service. At last, he ended with security thinking in the digital era. In the second area, Cyber Security Senior Consultant of KPMG China, Zero Zhang, presented the compliance requirements in China and the picture of safety events, introducing the overall framework of China’s cyber security and information security compliance, analyzing key compliance requirements of cyber security and explaining how do typical security incidents happen facing enterprises and individuals.
