(If you are interested in that, please contact us and ask for the soft copy.)

The White Paper (WP) is the signature product that codifies AmCham-China’s collective insights on the current business climate in China, setting forth, in a clearly written and well documented format, the official position of member companies on high priority issues affecting the American business community in China. The main audiences for the WP are the Chinese government, the US government and the business community. The WP serves as a year-on-year assessment of progress on policy matters and is a key platform for discussion and engagement with the Chinese and US government. It is published in time for use during our annual Washington DC Outreach visit to key US government officials as well as for our annual WP follow-up meetings with key Chinese government ministries.

By mid-May 2011, AmCham-China’s 2011 White Paper had been referenced over 3200 times by both Chinese and international media. The WP will exceed tens of thousands of downloads from the AmCham-China website by the next WP release date.  The WP has been cited as a valuable tool and resource by the media, businesspeople, and government officials, alike. Premier Wen Jiabao and other senior officials have referenced or quoted material from the WP in public speeches. Officials in the Chinese government have told us privately that they often use the WP to help justify policy changes favorable to US businesses. US government officials have similarly stressed the benefits of the WP as a resource to draw upon when crafting policy positions and statements on US-China trade policy.
